In the end, I'm pretty sure they ended up dropping the charges, and Creative learned from their mistake and started making drivers for all platforms again (my 7 year old X-Fi Platnum looks like it got a driver up date as recent as Feb 2011). Creative then removed the drivers he posted from their forums and then attempted to sue him.

They didn't originally make drivers for Windows Vista or something like that, and some forum user decided to make some working drivers. On their thing with hearing about driver issues, I think this comes from an old squabble. It's done me well though, I have 0 complaints. I only have this X-Fi because I bought it something like 7 years ago when they first came out and Asus wasn't making sound cards yet. However from everything I've heard, the Asus Xonar cards blow them out of the water. I have a Sound Blaster X-Fi Platinum on Win 7 圆4 and it works just fine.
